Mad Dogs (Yellow) beat Cavaliers (Danbury T20 Tournament) by concession
Notes:
The Won/Lost record of 27/10 is a major improvement on 2019 (35/42). The win/loss ratio of 73.0 is second only to the 2002 team’s record of 73.7 (won 14, lost 5). Both the batting and bowling team numbers were also markedly improved over recent seasons, exceeding our opponents’ statistics in every respect. Scoring rates were substantially increased, reflecting at least in part the conditions of T20-Tournament games at Danbury, but also some high-scoring matches at MDP.
The 11 game win streak (blue highlight) ties the record set in 2002, and the earlier 8 game streak is also now in the record books as a top-10 entry.
In respect of individual games, the 308 runs scored against IIT-ers of SCT was a new record, and the 266 total vs Stamford comes in at number-9 on the list. The 530 run combined total in the IIT-ers of SCT was the second most ever scored in a game.

The intra-squad games are included. This set of averages is the basis for all subsequent analyses.
It is unprecedented for 12 batsmen to score at a rate >100 runs/100 balls (blue highlights). This accomplishment reflects the considerable number of T20 games played under the high-scoring conditions at Danbury, plus some high scoring games at MDP. Prasanna Ramaswamy’s rate of 163 is third on the all-time list (he now holds all of the top-5 entries), while Raj Khatri’s 151 comes in at number 6.
Note that, on average, a Mad Dogs’ wicket this season cost the opposition 23.32 runs at a scoring rate of 106 R/100b, but both those figures are inflated upwards to a significant extent (over 10%??) by extras, particularly Willy Wide-Ball’s consistent contributions… Also, the above estimates do not factor in the intra-squad games, which this year did significantly contribute to personal statistics.

The intra-squad games are included. This set of averages is the basis for all subsequent analyses.
Ravi Nichani’s strike-rate of a wicket every 14.3 balls comes in at #7 on the all-time single-season list. There are no other entries in the all-time records. It was a hard year for bowlers (see batting records).
Note that, on average, an opposition wicket this season cost the Mad Dogs’ bowlers 18.86 runs and is taken every 20.2 balls at a scoring rate of 5.61 runs/over (93.5 runs/100 balls). As wides and no balls are charged against the bowlers, the skewing effect of extras is minimal. However, the above estimates do not factor in the intra-squad games, which this year did significantly contribute to personal statistics.

The bigger the Bunny Coefficient (B.C.) number, the bigger the killer.
Last year’s winner Sriram Rangarajan (B.C. of 7.67) does not qualify for the 2020 award, as he took only 7 wickets. However, his performance does merit a special note here. His 7 victims batted at 8, 10, 11, 14, 2, 12, 11, giving him a quite remarkable B.C. of 9.71. Sriram’s final wicket of the season epitomizes his accomplishments, as he bowled a 10-year old boy, batting at #11, in the last over of an innings.
